Are you curious to know how many muscles it takes to frown? 🤔 We had some great guesses, a range from 35 to 200!!! .
It is difficult to precise exactly how many muscles you use to frown due to the many different facial expressions that could be classified as a frown. Let’s say it can vary depending on how mad you are! 😤
However, after some research, we found out that you would use between 11 and 13 muscles. 😬🤓👏👏👏
I am sure you already received a message telling you that “it takes 43 muscles to frown but only 17 muscles to smile” (or any other number!), however, did you know the total muscles of facial expression are 36???? 😱 And not all of them are used to smile or to frown!
Dr. David Song, a plastic surgeon and Associate Professor at the University of Chicago Hospitals, says that the truth is that it takes one muscle more to smile than to frown!
Regardless… Smiles make you and everybody around happier, so keep smiling! 😁😁😁
And keep curious and tuned to STEM Camp… we are planning an incredible summer camp for 2019… Are you ready???? 👨🚀👨💻👩🔬👨💼👨🏭🚀✈️
